Wine Coolers are not Just for Wine Snobs
Firstly, I apologize if anyone is offended by the title to this piece, but you have to admit (even if it is secretly) that when you come across someone who knows the difference between a Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc or, indeed what white grapes make good wines and what don’t, it can seem a little snobbish. But then, that’s probably because it makes the rest of us feel inadequate.
The point I’m trying to make is that wine coolers can come in handy for anyone that enjoys a glass of wine or two over the weekend or when they have something special to celebrate. I mean, how many times have you had a dinner party and can’t fit all the food in your fridge because the bottles of wine are in the way?
This is exactly the reason why my brother recently purchased the Haier HVTM06ABS 6 bottle wine cooler. He confessed that he does like to have a bottle of wine or two around the house all the time just in case he get’s surprise visitors or has had a particularly bad day at work. Even having two bottles in the fridge took up space that could be better used for something healthier (not to mention the fact that the temperatures in there are too low for most wines).
I have to say, I LOVE this wine cooler and here’s why.
Aesthetics
It fits on my brother’s countertop without getting in the way and he has little floor space to spare, so this was the first plus for me. Second, he is a sucker for silver and chrome in the kitchen so this model blends really well with all his other appliances.
Worry Free Chilling
He’s got enough room in this cooler to fit 6 bottles of wine, and if you do have a special occasion coming up, it will handle the odd bottle of champagne at the bottom. He can also select the temperature he wants the wine to be chilled at, so if he wanted to he could also use it for reds.
The other thing I discovered (which I consider a real bonus) is that if you have a bottle that hasn’t been finished, you don’t have to resort back to the fridge. Just put a stopper on the top and the bottle fits back into the cooler without any trouble.
Gifts for Everyone
OK, so I’m singing the praises of this wine chiller but, I think it deserves it. Since I’m not the only one among my family and friends that enjoys wine, they should expect one of these on birthdays or at Christmas because they’re not expensive to buy and I know everyone else will love theirs as much as I love my brother’s!
