NewAir 21 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler Review

Dual Zone Wine Cooling – The Perfect Answer

I have a couple of friends that I’ve known since high school. In fact, it would be fair to say they are the best two friends anyone could have and, to my delight they decided to get married recently. I couldn’t be more excited for them and not only that, but I have been given the enviable task of Maid of Honor. However, that’s enough of me showing off about the responsibilities I have ahead of me.

What I really want to tell you (which I’m almost as excited about as the wedding itself) is the gift my partner and I have decided to get them. Like me, they both enjoy wine however; my girlfriend is a white wine kind of girl whereas her fiancé is more into reds.

The two of them have been thinking about buying a wine cooler but couldn’t decide what type to get because they’re very fussy about the temperature, and single zone models just didn’t seem to fit the bill for them. Now, I already bought a Haier 12 bottle wine cooler one day as a gift to a co-worker, but I thought this occasion deserved something bigger. So I decided to do a bit of research and came across the NewAir AW210ED streamline 21 bottle dual zone wine cooler.

I already know that looks are important for my friends after all, when you step into their home it’s like something out of a magazine so I needed to make sure I chose something that would complement their décor.

This model does a fine job in that respect. It’s tall and sleek and comes in black. The manufacturer has done a great job with matching the handles with the shelves inside, both of which are finished in silver chrome. It also has a really nice but not overpowering LED light that illuminates both the control panel and the cabinet inside.

It has two cabinets, the top one is for reds and the bottom one is for whites. Incidentally, the bottom section is larger than the top which is a good thing because there tends to be a higher turnover of red wine in my friends’ home, (my girlfriend is something of a collector).

So, I’ll bet you want to hear some more statistics that helped sway my decision to buy this.

Temperature Control
Aside from looks, this was the next “must have” on my list. The NewAir has a push button control panel with a digital display so you can easily see what each zone is set to. It also uses a thermoelectric cooling system which means it’s quiet. This was a plus in my book because I’m betting my friends will have it in their dining room.

Capacity
Since one friend likes to drink wine and the other likes to collect, I thought this model was the answer. It takes up to 21 bottles and if you’re storing larger bottles of white, you can remove the shelves to accommodate this.

Overall
This wasn’t an expensive wine cooler considering it has dual zone cabinets and considering the different needs of both my friends. I hope this will be the answer they’ve been looking for, but I’ve kept the receipt just in case!

I bought the Newair AW210ED with a $60 discount HERE at Amazon (my favorite online merchant) and because I couldn’t find it cheaper anywhere else.

The next option would have been the Koolatron 28 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler and I really had a hard time choosing, but I decided against the Koolatron because I thought it was too wide. However, if you have plenty of room, it’s a great choice as well.
